SafeTeam for Scout units · troops, packs, crews and ships

Keep every parent, Scout and leader informed, safely.

SafeTeam is the communication app for your unit. Announcements, group chat, calendar and RSVPs in one place, with two-deep protection built in and parents able to see their child's conversations.

$99 your first year, then $199 per year per unit. The first 15 troops to sign up get the first year free, then $110 per year. Every leader, parent and Scout is included.

SafeTeam already supports about 15,000 users across sports teams, schools and churches.

For the adults who run the unit.

  • Scoutmasters: post the calendar, collect RSVPs and talk with Scouts in one app, with parents able to see the conversation.

  • Committee chairs: one place to reach every family, with roles for your leaders and one price with no add-ons per member.

  • Cubmasters: parents RSVP for their Cub Scouts, and one parent can follow several kids from one account.

  • Crew and ship leaders: adult leaders and older Scouts talk in the SafeTeam app, and every conversation is logged.

Everything your unit needs to stay in touch.

Leaders reach families in the SafeTeam mobile and web apps and by email, so nobody has to share a personal phone number or hunt through a group text.

Youth protection is built in, not bolted on.

Youth protection rules ask that private online communication with a youth include another registered leader or a parent. SafeTeam is designed around that. Leaders don't have to police it, and parents don't have to wonder.

  • Two-deep connections: no one-on-one communication between an adult and a minor
  • Parents can see their child's conversations
  • Every message logged, with a full audit trail
  • Leaders and parents can flag content
  • Safety reports include the message transcript

Messages go through the SafeTeam apps and email.

SafeTeam doesn't use text messaging, so nothing depends on a carrier text gateway and nobody has to share a personal number.

Two-deep connections are built in, so there is no one-on-one communication between an adult and a minor. Parents can see their child's conversations, every message is logged, and leaders and parents can flag content.

Does SafeTeam use text messaging?

No. Messages go through the SafeTeam mobile and web apps and email.

Do families need a password?

No. Everyone signs in with a one-time code sent to their email.

Who's included in the price?

Can a parent with more than one Scout use one account?

Yes. Household linking lets one parent follow several kids, and several adults follow one Scout.

Is a unit website included?

Yes, as a bonus. Unit websites go live in Q1 2027 and are included for the first 100 troops. Your own leaders run the site.

What happens to our current website?

Keep it as it is for now. When unit websites go live in Q1 2027, we convert your existing site for you at no charge, and your own leaders keep it updated after that. No web volunteer needed.

Can we use our own domain for the unit website?

Yes. Bring the address you already have. You point it at your SafeTeam site, and it stays registered to you.

Where do unit website photos go, and who can see them?

New photos are members-only. To make a photo of a Scout public, a leader ticks a box confirming the unit has written parent or guardian permission, and SafeTeam records who ticked it and when. Each photo is made public one at a time. Next to a public photo, your unit chooses whether to show no name, a first name, or a first name and last initial. Full names never appear.

What shows on the public unit website?

Your unit decides whether adult leaders' photos and names appear, whether to use a logo, and how much of your meeting address shows. Public pages never list Scouts' names or rosters.
